Day 25 - Work Work Work

Hi friends,

Sorry I haven't written in a while. I have been SO tired! I have been working like crazy. I think in total this week I am working 58 or 59 hours in total. I have been in bed early and up early.

Tonight I enjoyed a date night with my fabulous sister. We did a little window shopping and sat down to watch a movie called "Morning Glory" with Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton. It was actually a really cute movie with alot of laughs. I think we both really needed to have this time to spend together and hang out a bit.

We've got a busy week and a busy weekend ahead. Though, I don't think that I would change any of it. Ya alot of working, but I am needing that money to help pay for the wedding this summer!

Anyways it's about bed time for me. Up at 5 again tomorrow morning! 4th day in a row!

Have a good sleep folks!
Peace.

Day 22 - Booked!!!

Hello blogging world!

I have some fantastic news! Today Rob and I paid our deposit on our reception venue!!!!!! So exciting!!!! It's such a relief to have something now set up. It's a beautiful room and I am in love with it! The Lord really did provide the perfect space for us. It's a huge weight lifted off my shoulders having paid that and now having that set up! I can't wait to see it all decorated and set up for our wedding day this August!!!

On another note, we went out today with part of our bridal party and picked out the guys' outfits! We brought Sarah and her bridesmaid dress and Nathaniel and Dan and headed to the mall. I had an idea of what I was hoping for them to wear, it was just trying to make it a reality. The first store we stopped in had exactly what I was picturing! They guys dressed up and Sarah put on the dress. It all came together so perfectly!!! I took a couple pictures and had to order in a number of the ties, but I am so impressed with how it's all come together! We are going to have the best looking bridal party!

Well, tonight between 8:30 and 9:30 pm it is Earth Hour. Where everyone is supposed to turn their lights and power off for one hour. Seeing as I have to be up at 4am tomorrow to be at work for 6, I don't think I will have a problem shutting my lights out! But everyone, take the time to turn the power off. Do something to help the beautiful planet we live in. It's nothing dramatic, but something that will make a difference.

Anyways I'm off to watch a movie with my honney. I just thought I would share the fantastic news with you!!!

Peace.

Day 21 - Wrestle Mania?

So I'm sitting at home tonight with my fabulous family. Dad, Rob, Mandy, Josh and I are watching Wrestling. Yes I know....a little strange. Though I will say, this wrestling is quite the conversation starter. We are all sitting around with bellies full of chicken and potatoes and laughing at this ridiculous show.

Despite our thrilling Friday evening, it's been a quick week filled with some emotional ups and downs.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow - paying the deposit on our reception site! Whooo!!! And we get to pick out the guys' outfits for the wedding. It's going to be a good day!

Good night world. Happy Friday Evening!
Peace.

Day 16 - Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Good morning blogging world!

I am feeling very optimistic about my day today. I had a good sleep after a fabulous day yesterday. And woke up this morning seeing the sun shinning and hearing the sweet sound of the birds singing!

I had a fantastic day yesterday hanging out with my bridesmaids. I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends!! I am so happy to have such a fabulous support group walking through this process with me. Thanks girls! Love you!

This morning, I am heading off to church, then lunch with Rob's family, then an afternoon indoor soccer game. The season is almost over for this year's indoor team. Can't wait to get outside and start playing there!!!

Have a wonderful day friends. Enjoy the beautiful sun!

Peace.

Day 14 - Sleepless Night

Good evening Friends,

Thank you for once again reading my blog. I know it's nothing special, but I really do appreciate from hearing from those of you who take a look every now and then.

I don't really have much to speak of tonight. I'm heading to bed very shortly. I've been up since 4 am and am feeling a little burned out tonight. I'm looking forward to a fabulous day tomorrow. I am going to be getting together with my bridesmaids and hang out for the afternoon. It is going to be so fabulous to have everyone together hanging out for a while. I am in need of the stress relief.

We looked at another reception venue today. It was beautiful! We're just trying to get costs down so we know what we can and can't afford. I'm ready to book something and stop being worried about this! lol.

Well, I think I'm off to bed. I'm pooped and in for a long day tomorrow.

Good night world!

Day 12 - End in 'site'

Hi friends,

So, it was pointed out to me by my good friend Becky - I have failed at my idea of blogging everyday for 30 days. I apologize. I guess it would just count as excuses to say that I have been busy. But, I assure you I have been extremely busy. Rob and I have had meetings and appointments every evening when we get home from work. By the time I get home I'm ready to crash and I head to bed. So...to fill you all in....as most of you are aware, I'm getting married in the summer! (150 days! Eeek!!!) However, we've run into a huge road block....that being a reception venue. We had an original idea that did not pan out, so we moved into finding something else. This turned into a very daunting and discouraging task as we found out many places were booked and on hold. We missed the boat on a couple places, but we have finally found one! I knock on wood because we saw it tonight and have yet to pay our deposit, but as soon as we do - we've finally done it! I am going to feel extremely relieved when we have it booked. I have been very stressed and worried about financial situations but God has provided for us exactly what we needed and as close to our budget as possible. Thank you for those of you who have been praying during my freak-out period. I appreciate your patience with me! Continue to pray that nothing happens and that we are able to officially book it and have this stress off of our shoulders.

I hope to write again tomorrow! Beck - don't let me forget again!!!
Love you all!
Peace.

Day 7 - Praying for Japan

Hi friends,

I'm sure you've heard on the radio or news today about the Tsunami that has hit Japan today. Such tragedy. It breaks my heart hearing about the people of Japan many out of homes, many injured, many missing and huge numbers dead. It's at times like these that where I am incredibly grateful to live in a country where we don't have nature disasters such as the Tsunami. Today, my prayers go out to those in Japan, and people who have friends and family there. May God bring peace to such turmoil and tragedy.

Day 6 - Hold On

Tonight on my way home from work, I heard a song come on the radio. It's a Michael Buble song entitled "Hold On". I love Michael's work, so the same with every one of his songs that comes on the radio, I turned the volume up. While listening to the lyrics, I couldn't help but think of what my life would be like at this time without my amazing fiancee. I am so blessed to have such an amazing man in my life. This is a very romantic song that got me appreciating what I have so generously been blessed with.

"Hold On"

Didn't they always say we were the lucky ones?
I guess that we were once
Babe, we were once

But luck will leave you cause
It is a faithless friend
And in the end when life has got you down
You've got someone here that you can wrap your arms around

So hold on to me tight
Hold on to me tonight
We are stronger here together
Than we could ever be alone
So hold on to me
Don't you ever let me go

There's a thousand ways for things to fall apart
But it's no one's fault
No it's not my fault

Maybe all the plans we made would not work out
But I have no doubt even though it's hard to see
I've got faith in us and I believe in you and me

So hold on to me tight
Hold on, I promise it'll be alright
Cause it's you and me together
And baby all we've got is time
So hold on to me, hold on to me tonight

There's so many dreams that we have given up
Take a look at all we've got
And with this kind of love
What we've got here is enough

So hold on to me tight
Hold on, I promise it'll be alright
Cause we are stronger here together
Then we could ever be alone
Just hold on to me
Don't you ever let me go
Hold on to me, it's gonna be alright
Hold on to me tonight
They always say we were the lucky ones

Day 5 - Ash Wednesday

Ok - so it's only a week into my goal of writing each day and I have already failed. I did not post yesterday. In my defense, I had a meeting after work in the evening however I believe that constitutes as an excuse. I apologize for already failing on my task of writing.

As for today, many of you know that today is Ash Wednesday. The beginning of the lent season leading up to Easter. Typically when I consider what I should give up for lent, I usually choose something that I don't consider too serious of a loss. The whole idea of giving up something for lent is to pick something that is a challenge. Something that will cause you to think of and pray each time it pops into your mind or the temptation is near. This year however, I think it came upon me too quickly that I have yet to decide what I should give up for lent. As I sit here and consider the options, I wonder if instead of giving something up I could teach myself to be more disciplined in certain things. And each day as I struggle through whether I should move forward, it would help remind me to pray and seek God's strength to carry on. Since I will be a couple of days starting my lent practice, I will continue it right through until the end of Easter.

Any thoughts on the idea of practicing self discipline for lent as opposed to giving something up?

Day 3 - The Word in Song

"How Deep The Father's Love for us"

"How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
And make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon the cross
My sin upon His shoulder
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom"

I think these words speak for themselves. Take comfort in the fact that He lives. He paid the ultimate price. He died, yet we live. He rose from the dead to fulfill exactly what he said he was going to do. Jesus lives. And he did all he did for me. For us.

Peace.

Day 2 - The Word

Hi friends,

Being that today is Sunday, I went to church this morning. This was the first Sunday of our pastor's sabbatical, so the interm pastor was stepping in. This morning he read from Romans. It was a great message and he read one of the most fabulous passages from Romans - which is what I am going to share with you today.

Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This passage just re-affirmed to me that no matter what happens in life, no matter how many times I screw things up. No matter what mistakes I make. No matter the stupid things I say and do. God Loves Me. There is NOTHING that will separate me from the love of my saviour. WOW. He loves me....and you. No matter what. Incredible.

Friends, take a moment to read through the passage again. Take a second to be wow-ed. The creator of the entire universe loves YOU. No matter what you've done or will do. He Loves you.

Peace.

Day 1

Hi friends!

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've written. Unfortunately I haven't had alot of free time. With working, planning a wedding and just day-to-day busy-ness I haven't made much time for blogging. So, to encourage me to get back into blogging, for the next 30 days I am going to post something. Whether it be a picture, poem, scripture, story or interesting fact - I am going to post it. I am hopeful that it encourages me to spend sometime online instead of watching TV and wasting my rare amount of spare time doing something unproductive.

So I need your help! If you are one of the people that does read my blog, and I haven't posted one one day - Contact me! Encourage me to keep up with my 30 day goal!

Looking forward to a small challenge!
Love Missy
